Robert Hudson

Robert Hudson worked as a book editor at Zondervan (HarperCollins Christian) for thirty-five years. He studied literature and languages at DePauw University and has a master’s degree in comparative literature from the University of North Carolina. He also studied at Trinity College (Oxford), Wheaton, Elmhurst, and Middlebury.

He founded WorkingPOET.com, a poetry website, blog, and online workshop, which ran from 2000 to 2004. He is a member of the International Thomas Merton Society, the Thomas Traherne Association, the William Blake Society, and the Dante Society of America. His articles have appeared in Christianity TodayThe BannerThe Lamp-Post (C. S. Lewis Journal), and Gadfly among others, and his poetry has appeared in The Seneca ReviewMars Hill ReviewThe Other SideGood FootThe MennoniteWest Hills ReviewStudies in Contemporary SatireThe Formalist, and other journals.

Robert and his wife, Shelley Townsend-Hudson, an award-winning poet, play fiddle and banjo, respectively, in an old-time string band called Gooder’n Grits. They split their time between Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Old Salem, North Carolina.
