Thank you for your interest in supporting our work. Thank you for encouraging us to write, for buying our books, and for supporting our mission.
In the past three-plus decades, we have individually published over 600 titles, collaborated on 13 book projects, launched a prestigious journal of arts and religion, edited a major Christian book review, and established a summer arts conference that annually draws over two hundred fiction writers, poets, playwrights, song writers, and visual artists of faith for a week of workshops with nationally known faculty. We’re proud of these achievements, and we want to continue to make the Society a visible, robust force within the art-and-faith world.
We have two ways you can choose to designate your donation: the General Fund or the Luci Shaw Fund. See below for details.
GENERAL FUND:
With your help, we work to:
- Host emerging writers in participating in our community meetings.
- Offer scholarships to promising young writers so they can attend national Christian arts conferences such as the Glen Workshop and the Festival of Faith and Writing.
- Support programs that help writers complete their first book, such as the Milton Fellowship.
- Fund Society readings and speaking engagements in various venues, including on college and university campuses.
- Propel the writing of new individual and collaborative books among our members.
You can partner with us through your tax-deductible gift by donating online through the portal above. A contribution in any amount will help support Chrysostom’s work in the world.
You can also write a check payable to “The Chrysostom Society” and mail it to our Treasurer:

LUCI SHAW WRITERS FELLOWSHIP FUND:
The Luci Shaw Writers Fellowship was created in 2024 in honor of our beloved, longtime member and outstanding poet, Luci Shaw. Contributions to the Luci Shaw Writers Fellowship will be specifically used to support the next generations of writers attending the annual Society member gathering and writing retreat:
- For nominating and bringing Luci Shaw Fellows (especially writers who are early in their careers) as guests to our annual gathering who can benefit from mentorship and connections with our members, and/or sponsoring that Fellow to attend other writing conferences/workshops to help them grow.
- For covering the travel expenses of newly-nominated members of the Society to our gathering to continue to build and diversify our membership.
- For supporting current members of the Society who need a financial boost to attend our gathering so they can continue to focus on their writing.
Your tax deductible gift in Luci’s honor can be made by donating online above. Please check the box “Write a comment” in the portal above and add “Luci Fund” so we can designate your fund to be used accordingly. Or if you prefer to write a check, add the same term “Luci Fund” to the memo line and mail it to the address provided above.
