James Calvin Schaap (Emeritus)

James Calvin Schaap has been living and working and writing in the far reaches of northwest Iowa for close to 40 years.  In that time, he’s published short stories and novels (Romey’s Place, The Secrets of Barneveld Calvary, and others), as well as essays and a variety of other forms of non-fiction, including meditations (Sixty at Sixty, Honest to God), biography (Things We Couldn’t Say), and even history (CRC Family Album:  the Unfinished Story of the Christian Reformed Church).  His latest book is Rehoboth:  A Place for Us, a collection of stories about families associated with a century-old mission on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico.

He blogs at “Stuff in the Basement.”
